Christmas Guests
Last night we got news via Facebook, Momma's brother and his family are coming for Christmas. Which means on Tuesday we will pick up my dad's sister from the airport and she'll be with us until December 17th, then on December 22nd Momma's brother and his family arrive giving us a whopping 17 people staying with us for Christmas. Yes, that's an additional 10 people. My holiday to-do list just doubled.
There will be 4 young kids here that we will have to keep entertained and since we haven't seen them in a long time we were hoping to make this Christmas magical for them. Since we aren't exactly rich we have to use our imaginations to do that; maybe some cookies, decorations galore, and lots of games. But, before anyone gets here I have to get things perfectly spic and span. Which includes things that aren't done often enough, i.e. vacuuming the baseboards along the stairs, and moving furniture to accommodate the droves of people. I'll also need to meal plan, partake in a massive shopping trip or 3 and do a lot of cooking and baking.
So far we are planning on doing the saran wrap gift game, gingerbread decorating competition, my husband may or may not be dressing up as Santa, and a lot of eating and board games.
This holiday season has the opportunity to be wonderful, but if I don't have a good plan of action and strong support it's a slippery slope to a month of stress-induced fibromyalgia flares.
I'll have an update for you after everyone goes home, and I'm sure on a few days I'll have to write about current events.
